This weekend was yet another busy one and I can now say that the wedding season has started and I love it! All my happy brides, bridesmaids and mums. It’s wonderful to be part of the preparations on the special day and it’s a huge compliment when I and my assistant can help make the atmosphere and bring a sense of fun, calm and control to a chaotic time.
My trips this weekend took me to Welwyn for 7am on Saturday morning where my 2 brides were getting ready for their ceremony to take place pretty early in the morning!! After this it was off to Bedfordshire and Biggleswade then back to London Colney and finally a client in St Albans…phew yes a busy Saturday.
Sunday was long day in London and I’m not a huge fan of driving in the capital but Sundays aren’t too bad as parking is less restricted my brides to be were very pleased with their results and I’m hoping to get some fresh pictures up soon.
Finally, it’s always a huge sense of joy and signals the end of another busy day, when I can finally tap in home in the car sat nav system……get me home double quick!

People always compliment on how smooth, radiant and well moisturised my skin is even in the Winter months when the weather is unkind to the skin. I do all the usual things to help keep my skin looking youthful for example drinking plenty of water (minimum 2 litres a day) I eat lots of very brightly coloured vegetables (peppers, carrots, beetroot) and I stay away from alcohol, take away and ready meals due to the high salt/fat content! But even the best of us need a helping hand.
My friend Carole Goddard who is a respected Skincare Specialist and Aesthetician and supplier of some of the most wonderful products for the face and body recommened that I try SkinSceuticals the US Brand of Skincare that has been in the UK for a few years but only available through some online stockists and very few salons.
I use the Emollience Cream every morning, together with the Eye Cream and a number of special Serums designed for fighting the effects of ageing caused by exposure to the elements. Also I use the Night Cream and sometimes the Clay Mask as an extra boost! I’ve never looked back and wished that I had dicovered this sooner : )
So ladies it worth investing in a good skincare brand even if you’re in your 20’s as you’ll be thankful in the long run….remember that old Proverb Prevention Is Better Than Cure.

I recently met Mikaela Morgan at a wedding at the Gatsby Berkamsted where she captured the mood, atmosphere and colour of this wedding I was really impressed at how she managed to take such wonderful images without us noticing as some photographers can get under your feet as the bridal party are getting ready! So bear this in mind brides-to-be when selecting a photographer.
Mikaela believes that your wedding or civil partnership photography should capture the essence and joy of your day. Her style of wedding photography is not just about photographing an event… it’s about people and it’s about capturing all the excitement, anticipation and emotion that drive a wedding.
Mikaela’s style is very natural, relaxed and unobtrusive and she will photograph your wedding in her contemporary, documentary style.
Mikaela covers Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and some parts of London contact her direct for a consultation;

Well it’s been a busy Summer with weddings every week (some cases 5 over one weekend! Oh and the Friday and Monday weddings…) I have been doing the miles around Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London and many other locations…..I’ve seen the most amazing dresses (I have to mention Abigail Mellor’s dress simply took my breath away!), met lovely bridesmaids and of course brides-to-be, visited the most unbelievable venues from the opulently, extravagantly bold (Brocket Hall, Luton Hoo,) to the elegant and expensive (Fanhams Hall) and the rustic & simple (Tewin Bury Farm) and low key locations too. I have shared in the happiness, joy and fun of all of my brides this season and have been made to feel very welcome! I have also wiped the tears from the eyes of many a bride and guest (not because I have jabbed them with a mascara wand) but because they have truly loved the end result and been made to feel every bit special on their big day ahhhhh
It’s been a wonderful summer and still more to look forward to this Autumn/Winter and there are plenty of weddings to come and no doubt more stunning dresses and venues to be seen! I shall keep you posted.
